More and more Christmas mail... or?

Today I received a package and a big letter from Finland (both from two different Finnish girls) and I sitll wonder if it is Christmas mail that didn't arrive on time or if it is birthday mail already? Good question... I'm still hoping I can resist opening them (in case it is birthday mail :D ).

The other two cards came for Christmas, definitely. One (the one on the right) is from my boyfriend's family from Sweden and I would call it adorable. :) The other one on the right is from a friend here from Germany.

Happy new year everybody!

I received a niiiice Christmas card from a friend (from Germany) today and this is the cute stamp on the envelope. The card is handmade and awesome, but too private to show ;)

X-Mas-Spam

I was at the post office today to send loads and loads of Christmas mail. A package, some cards and some postcrossing cards, too. Probably it is less than other people send (I heard about almost 20 cards!) but it took ages to get everything done. :P Now I can only hope they will arrive on time. I fear they won't, thanks to this wonderful weather.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Russia - 13th of december 2010

Today I found this lovely card from St. Petersburg, Russia in my mail. It came along with a beautiful quote by Aleksandr Pushkin.

"The snow below the bluish skies,
Like a majestic carpet lies,
And in the light of day it shimmers.
The woods are dusky. Through the frost
The greenish fir-trees are exposed;
And under ice, a river glitters."
- A. Pushkin

I also enjoyed the stamps! They are showing a viaduct and the river 'Matsesta', I think. My Russian has become a bit rusty, I fear.

Lithuania - 11th of December

Today I received this interesting card from Lithuania. It is named "Skrendu virš horizonto". The word 'Horizon' I get, but not the rest really. Unfortunately there was no translation/explenation to it, so maybe somebody out there has?

This one is the stamp that is on the card:

My card to Canada is still on it's way. :(

Airport nights

My dear boyfriend got stuck at the airport in Munich last Monday and then he decided sending me this card. He wrote it on the plane he had to change to in about 10.000 metres hight. Cool, ain't it?

On the card was this stamp, showing the big dinosaur at the Naturkundemuseum in Berlin. I loved it when I was a kid! The museum is, according to the stamp, 200 years old already.

Netherlands - 1st of December 2010

Today I received this AWESOME postcrossing card from a Dutch postcrosser. I L-O-V-E it. unfortunately there is no postcrossing-ID. I hope I can find it out somehow. It's such a cool card!

And the stamps are nice, too. But those ducks rock! :)

Belgium - 29th of november 2010

After quite a bit of absence (shame on me, I know), I received a nice postcard from Bruxelles, Belgium today. It came from a German postcrosser living there now. The funny thing about it: she is living about 30 km away from my hometown! Life is full of coincidences, don't you agree?

Vad vill du upptäcka?

What do you want to discover?

I received this card and a letter (both with the stamp below) from the wonderful A pic a week's owner. It really made my day!

I so know what you mean...

... says the bear on the right side. This card came from a friend from Germany (= here :D ). Isn't that cute? She said I was the stone and she was the bear, due to my supermassive use of different languages.

On the stamp you can btw see one of Germany's most famous writers, Annette von Droste-Hülshoff.

Bridges

This wonderful stamp is from Italy, showing a bridge for trains. Isn't it a cute one?

Montag, 8. November 2010

Zambia

This stamp came from Sambia once. It's showing a Ngoma dancer. I have to say that I really love those... let's call them cultural stamps, especially, when they come from a country you have never been to or that isn't similar to the country you live in yourself.

Then I also go one more outgoing letter to Hungary today. Can't wait to post it in a couple of hours. And I think I have to buy new stamps by the end of this week. :P Again.

Anyway. Today I'll show you some very nice stamps with butterfly-motives. All of them came from Finland.

Stampspam again!

Thanks to my wonderful grandma I'm the owner of one hell of a lot newer and older stamps from all over Germany. Some are really cool. But I won't show them all at once, of course. ;)

For a start you can see a stamp from Denmark, saying 'Det er os'. It's a politically inspired painting you can see there.

The next one I really love a lot! It's strawberries on it :)

And then there also is a beautiful fall-scene from a German forest. I seriously do love our stamps!

Letters: Sweden. Another new stamp!

Hey everybody!

Sorry for the long time off but I took my duckies from the Ducks in dungeons-blog for a little walk. :)
When I came home I found a letter from Sweden on my desk. There I found a new stamp on it (or rather: the stamp that went missing on the letter before).
