China - 31st of august 2010

On the card I received from China today you can actually see the cool and modern German hall on the world exhibition 2010. In 2000 it actually was in Germany and I went there myself :D

And those bird-stamps! Wonderful!

Finland - 3rd of december

This card is showing Helsinki by night and I have to say that it's actually even more beautiful there when it's dark. The white buildings around the cathedral (qhich you can't see on the card now) are shining as if they were the moon.

And the stamp must be one of the most awesome stamps I have EVER seen!

France - 26th of november 2009

This card is showing Le Pont de Normandie, which is located in between Le Havre and Honfleur, for those out there who know France a bit better. I have been to France quite often already but I can't remember being in the Normandie. Well, sometime, perhaps? :)

Switzerland - 25th of november 2009

The drawing 'Clair de lune sur l'Isle de St.Pierre' (1860, engl.: Moonlight on the St. Peter Island) was drawn by Johann Joseph Hartmann (1752-1830). I love the whole setting with the colours and the little boat there.

Fill in the blank friday

Uuuuh, almost forgot it's friday today! Over at the little things we do... it's fill in the blank friday again :)

1. The most adventurous thing I've ever done is good question. I'm boring! But probably it's going into a ghost house called Dungeon in Hamburg, Germany. It scared the shit out of me!

2. If I were a pair of shoes I would be something comfortable... maybe a pair of chucks? I'm not the shoe-kind-of-person, you know ;)

3. My preferred mode of digital communication is emailing. It is fast, free and you don't have to call people. I don't like calling, really. Plus you have everything written down and can check it up again.

4. I feel happiest when I can be home together with the one I love.

5. A little dream I have for my life is doing an exchange term abroad. If I'll manage is still not sure though.

6. The one modern convenience I could NOT do without is Internet. It's so plain practical and fast.

7. Music, movies, TV or books: Books. I rarely have time to read but I love books anyway and try to read as often and as much as I can.

Russia - 26th of august 2010

I came home late yesterday and then I found this nice card from Russia. It shows the Ivan the Great Belfry and Belltower in Moscow according to the card.

And look at those cool stamps!

Donnerstag, 26. August 2010

Netherlands - 24th of november 2009

On this nice postcrossing card from the Netherlands you can see the storm surge barrier in Zeeland. It keeps flooding during storms away.

Now look at the cuuute comic on that stamp. Cute!

Mittwoch, 25. August 2010

Finland / Italy - 23rd of November 2009

The first card, of that day came from Finland, showing a picture by Fredrik Ahlstedt (1839-1901). It's called 'Poika veräjällä' (engl. 'Boy at the gate'). It actually reminds me a bit of a TV-show based on a book by Astrid Lindgren. People who know that show will immediately understand what I mean.

Car number 2 came from Italy and it is showing the church of a city called Alba.

Finland - 30th of September 2009

I received this nice viewcard from a 17 year old Finnish girl. I reaaaaaaaaaally lowe the stamp! It's a cake! :)

Montag, 23. August 2010

USA - 22nd of september 2009

This is a very cool card from San Francisco, showing the Market street in the middle. Never been there but it would be fun to go!

The stamp is showing Grand Trenton National Park in Wyoming.

Netherlands / Finland - 10th of september 2009

Last year's september 10th, I received two cards, one from the Netherlands and one from - guess - Finland.

It's a cuuuute nostalgic card from the painter Erven Rie Cramer (1887-1997). Isn't this girl sweet with her little doll waggon?

I'm not quite sure what there is on the stamps, but it seems like some kind of museum objects maybe?

From Finland I received this angel-card.

It is huge! I haven't received such a huge card ever.

And I liiike this stamp. :)

Samstag, 21. August 2010

Poland - 8th of september 2009

This card is from the city Nowy Sacz in Poland. I especially like the picture in the centre of the card. :)

I think, the stamp is a very nice one, too, but I'd like to know what makes the house so special, that it is on a stamp. Is it from some author? Or some other famous person?

Fill in the blank friday

Over at the little things we do... I found the fill in the blank friday. I just have to participate today (especially as I didn't receive any mail! :( )

1. My favorite current TV show is True Blood. Don't ask why. It got me. But Supernatural is still high on the list!

2. The TV character I can relate to most is still not existing? Or maybe it's Wednesday Addams on the Addams Family. Or so... yes, I can be freaky!

3. My life is like (fill in with TV show and why) a documentation about a student's life. Nothing exciting is happening. I'm sorry!

4. My all time favorite TV show is hard to tell. I love the Addams family. But there are also shows like Supernatural, queer as folk, Pushing Daisies and the first seasons of Smallville (yes, my... teeniehood-show :P )that I still like a lot. But Addams Family it should be.

5. A TV show that is ridiculously stupid, but I continue to watch is a German talkshow. It's not that I watch it regularly, but sometimes I do... and I wonder all the time how far our society can still fall down, so to say :P

6. My favorite TV couple is either Ned and Charlotte on Pushing Daisies or Brian and Justin on Queer as Folk. I can't really decide.

7. One TV episode I could watch over and over again is the friends-episode, where Chandler meets somebody famous in a vestibule. It's wonderful!

India - 16th of july 2009

I received this card from India and it's showing McLeod Ganj-town. I think it's a very interesting card.

The stamps are, too.

They are showing Harakh Chand Nahata (the one with the blue background) and Dula Bhaya Kag.
Pkust it's just been 18 days of travelling!

WTD

I foundthis comic. isn't it cute and wonderful? :)

They have Chinese stamps there...

The second card came from Finland.

China / Finland / Finland - 1st of July 2009

I received a whole mass of cards on the 1st of July 2009. Made me really glad :)

The first one was from China, showing Pico Yubing on Hunagshan Mountain.

Those stamps are cool, too.

Then I received a card from Finland, showing a beautiful lake-scenery.

The stamp is nice as well, showing people reading, I think.

The third card I got that day was also from Finland, showing Nothern Lights. They are so beautiful!

The stamp is so cute as well :)

Sonntag, 15. August 2010

Ukraine - 25th of june 2009

This is the monument of Duke Armand de Richelieu in Odessa, Ukraine. It was a very nice surprise to receive this card from a place that far :)

And also the stamp is very nice!

Taiwan - 14th of august 2010

Hey, it's me again!
Coming home from the zoo today I found a nice card from Taiwan in my mailbox. I never expected to get another one even though I still got two unarrived cards. But I don't mind ;)

It is showing the San-shien-tai Bridge in Eastern Taiwan. Beautiful isn't it?

I also like the stamp :)

Finland - 24th of June 2009

I love nothern lights! Love, love, love! Though I've actually never seen any for real yet. But I will, someday. I'm sure, I hope :P

And such a cuuute stamp :)

Plus only 2 days of traveltime. Wow! :D

Random Spam

I love random spamming. Seriously. Today was successful. Sent a postcrossing-card to a dutch postcrosser and went to a wonderful decorationstore with my boyfriend. To buy stuff, of course. Bought three packages of feathers, a package of wooden buttons and also shiny blue sand. Shiny. I like shiny!

I also got something to make out of it in mind already. Shiny, isn't it? :P

And because I am nice, I also got some stamps for you :)

Those are actually German stamps, designed by Udo Lindenberg, who is a singer and - as it seems - also a painter. There has been a whole set out now, even with packages to send. Nice, isn't it? On the card it says 'Keine Panik' which means 'Don't panic' and 'Sonderzug Pankow', which is referring to one of his songs.

This one is one of the current non-stampstation ones, showing a marguerite. It's one of a whole bunch of different flower-stamps we have.
Enjoy!

USA - 11th of august 2010

Totally unexpected I found this wonderful view in my mailbox today.

Take a look at the stamps. I love the different sorts you can get in the United States!

Plus: I made something for my analogue geocaching-log! So in case I loose it, my mail and username are in ther with a (actually just semi-)professional look. Yee-hah!
